For the Preliminary task, we were split into groups and each group was allocated a song to record a music video for.
Esha, Aaron and I were given 'Burning Down the House' by Tom Jones and The Cardigans. Listening to the song, Esha and I come up with a simple concept for the music video, communicating via twitter. We decided that we would go for a monochrome theme as it would be easy to coordinate in such a short amount of time. We decided our costume would be a white shirt with black trousers/ skirt. We decided that our makeup should be smoky to reflect the 'burning' idea. It would also help create a '90's vibe, along with the hairstyles we chose. Later on we decided we would have shots of us wearing 'red items' (Sunglasses, tie, shoes and lipstick) to use for the 'fire' parts. This would stand out and add something a bit different to the video. I then sent instructions to Aaron on what to bring.
We wanted to use instruments in our music video, so we contacted Mr Turner, who in turn contacted Giltbrook Studios (Where we were going as a class to film) to see if they had a drum kit, a keyboard and a guitar. We wanted to have an instrument each, so we could have a 'band' shot of everyone playing (despite us being unable to actually play the instruments...)
Since the main singer in the song is a male, Aaron was going to be spotlighted
